This update is a little late I apologise. With the new site, I’ve been so busy and haven’t had a chance to type this out until now.
As I mentioned in the first update you can find here, I found the first week quite easy to follow along and enjoyed trying the new recipes.
The second week of The 21 Day Sugar Detox I still found easy to keep too, however, there were two occasions that I was tested.
My first test came when I went out to lunch with my hubby for Valentines day. We went to Crumb Street Kitchen here in Hobart, who serve 18hr smoked meats and ribs. This meal was easy to avoid some of those nasties, I enjoyed pulled pork, lamb ribs and coleslaw. Such beautiful meats, they leave my mouth watering.
Then, over the weekend, we were out to dinner for my son’s birthday. His choice was Indian. I was happy with this, but its what I consider a ‘naughty’ meal. I ordered butter chicken with a little rice. This meant that I wasn’t true to the detox for this meal, but interestingly the next morning I was so keen just to eat fresh, clean food.

Aside from that slip up, I have been sticking to the detox with ease and even including some of my own meals. Here is the wrap up of week 2’s meal plan and what I actually ate.
Highlight meal of the week…the Curried Chicken Salad I enjoyed for lunch. Very easy to make and the flavours were delicious. My hubby really loved it too. He’s asked for this one repeatedly since.
You’ll notice I haven’t been snacking much. Again, I think this is due to the high protein meals and feeling content throughout the day.
I’ll be doing my final wrap up on sunday night (actually only a few days from now).
