Holiday’s over…Its Detox Time.

I have just got home from my much needed ‘working’ holiday. I enjoyed 10 relaxing days with my beautiful family in a sunnier place. With my recent study and work load I really needed the break. In that time I did attend the Problogger event, which while crammed full of useful and inspiring material, was two very full on days (possibly a little harder for me as I was in holiday mode). I also managed to take a little time to celebrate my birthday in amongst it all.

I know, I know, my holidays are as busy as regular life lol.

But, there was also lots of time laughing with my cherubs, exploring, and eating.

Before we left on our holiday, I told myself not to be too hard on my food choices. I was willing to give my diet a little holiday and was happy to opt for gluten free at worst if I couldn’t find a better alternative. While I manage to find Paleo options, I often had to accept gluten free as my only choice. I tried my best, but its truthfully its just not easy when travelling. So…it happened, and I dealt with the effects it had on me. Big deal, right.

Now, I’m home and its not ok. I didn’t like the way it made me feel and its not how I want to eat. I need to detox. I need to get that balance back. I need to feel the best that I can feel again to tackle my every day. So, the decision was easy…I’m doing the 21 Day Sugar Detox again.

Many of you who have been reading the blog know that I completed it earlier this year and found its effects on me really positive. I’m hoping this time around it will be just as positive. For those that haven’t read it, here’s the link to my wrap up of the third and final week.

I’m going to take you along on the journey again and will be sharing a wrap up at the end of each week to let you know how I am feeling, how I’m progressing, and what I’ve been eating. This isn’t about weight loss for me, though I’m sure I will see a little as my body balances out again. I’m more keen to stop any cravings from the sweeteners that can be added to gluten free products and stabilise my intake again.

You don’t have to have been eating your way through a holiday to take advantage of a detox like this one though. We usually know when we aren’t feeling great, have over indulged.
