Cranberry sauce is a must on the Christmas table to go with those tasty turkey’s and hams. The only problem if you are trying to follow a Paleo, low carb/high fat, sugar free or diabetic style of eating those shop bought varieties have added sugar and preservatives.
Here is my simple Paleo Dried Cranberry Sauce that is so easy to make. Yes, you still have time.
1 1/2 cups dried cranberries
3 apples, peeled and cored
Juice of 1/2 orange
1/4 cup honey
Soak the cranberries in a medium bowl of water for a minimum of 2 hrs. The longer the better.
Place the soaked cranberries and 1/4 cup of the water into the TM bowl.
Roughly chop the apples and add to the TM bowl.
Cook for 10 mins, speed 1 reverse, at 100 degrees. Check to make sure apples are cooked through, if not soft then continue for another minute or two.
Once cooked, process on speed 3 for 30 seconds or until all roughly mashed together.
Add the orange juice and honey and process for another 30 seconds to combine all together.
Serve warm, or place straight into a sterile jar and secure the lid and allow to cool.
The sauce is fruity, but not overly sweet. You can take it with you to family or friends and know that you won’t regret it later. It would even make a nice present for the table.
