Its mid week again and we all need a little inspiration not to serve up the same old same old again, but with little fuss right? I came across this recipe for Paleo Butter Chicken shared by Pete Evans on his Facebook page and thought I would give it a go, and let you all know what my curry crazy family thought.
We probably have a curry once a week because they really are so easy and full of goodness, with little effort involved. Really. Once you start making your own curries, or curry pastes, you will realise how simple they are and never want to buy one of those jar bought ones full of sugar ever again.
Christmas is fast approaching. Actually its almost here (eek!). I haven’t started thinking about the gift list as yet. Usually I am a little more organised with what I plan to gift my family and close loved ones with. I have had time to think about what I might like, however, and thought I would share it with you incase you might know someone who might also enjoy them.
It feels a little selfish of me to be considering myself first, but there have been so many exciting books and cookbooks released lately that I started a little list in my head of my top wants. There are certainly more than five (way more), but I’m not really that greedy. Hubby please note, I would be happy to receive one of these five (hint hint). Continue reading
This week was my final detox week. I felt confident going into the third week that it would be as easy as the first two weeks, and it was.
I talked about cooking a few more of my own meals when I did my week 2 round up, but the week turned out busier than I’d expected, and so sticking fairly close to the meal plan provided in the 21 Day Sugar Detox Cookbook actually helped. When you are time poor having the meal plan and recipes within easy reach can be a huge tool to utilise, to make life easier.
Today marks day 7 of the 21 day sugar detox! I’ve made it through a week and honestly haven’t had too many issues in doing so.
I’m pleasantly surprised how easy it has been to follow the meal plan from the 21 day sugar detox cookbook. I mentioned in my first post before I started here that I was more the kind of person to cook what I felt like, and while I plan my meals my taste buds generally have final say.
Wish me luck! I’ve decided to join in and do The 21 Day Sugar Detox. I recently purchased Practical Paleo and The 21 Day Sugar Detox Cookbook by Diane Sanfilippo of Balanced Bites. I was blown away by the extensive nutritional information that Diane managed to cram into Practical Paleo, with tear out info sheets and a complete breakdown of how the body, gut and intestines process food and use it to fuel (or destroy) your body was amazing. I can easily see this book being a bible like reference for many Paleo followers, but also those looking to improve their health with food.
