It’s that time of year again! Time to reflect on the year that’s been and the new year that lays blank ahead of us. It’s a time to choose how we approach and shape the new year. For me I look forward to the new year and a new fresh start. Living in Australia, the new year also brings our warmest weather, and that itch to be outside enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.
Many of you will be making new years resolutions, and others will be picking one word to inspire them throughout 2016. Some will be doing both. Last year I wrote a post about breaking down your resolutions and setting goals that are achievable. You might find it useful to read about that here. Re-reading it, it’s still very relevant.
The new year is here. We have celebrated the Christmas season (possibly eating a little too much). We’ve said goodbye to one year and hello to a new one. We have looked in the mirror and decided we need to make a positive change, the change we have been talking about for some time, but was waiting for the ‘right’ moment. Well that moment is here.
The new year offers so much opportunity to be whatever you want it to be. Its a blank canvas that you can decorate any way you choose. You’ve made that new years resolution and this year you are going to make it count. Right?
Many mums I know are super busy juggling being an awesome mum with working or just all the demands that they face on a day to day basis. Being a mum is a full time role, so trying to do anything else on top of that is going to drain us.
Often mums are always putting others first as well. They will happily give up a good nights sleep, the last piece of food or even doing what everyone else wants to. This drains us and is not a great way to take care of yourself. If you don’t take care of yourself, then there may not be anyone there to look after your children one day. Continue reading
