Paleo Beef Jerky

My hubby is and always was a jerky lover. When he finally joined me on the paleo journey one of the first things he asked me to make him was some jerky. I’ve made it quite a few times since then. This recipe is a mix of flavours that I always go back to.

This paleo beef jerky recipe is simple to make and is great to have on hand as a snack, whether you’re trying to up your protein, makes snacks that are cost-effective, or just need something convenient to take away camping. It’s also suitable if you are following the Whole30 or 21 Day Sugar Detox (21DSD).

This time of year many people are baking or making tasty little treats to gift or share with family for the festive season. It’s such a lovely thing to receive a handmade gift, something baked with love. That is, as long as it’s not filled with processed grains and sugars.

The festive season can be hard to avoid those foods that you have chosen to remove from your diet. For many people it takes an extra effort to resist. Paleo Asian Baked Meatballs

The other day I shared my recipe for my Paleo Sweet Chilli Sauce, a great dipping sauce made with all paleo compliant ingredients. Well, here is the recipe that I served it with when I was asked along to a ‘bring-a-plate’ night with friends.

These paleo asian baked meatballs are quick and easy to make, and use common fresh ingredients in most paleo homes. The flavour is subtle and not over powering, so the kids can enjoy them too.

Paleo Lunch Box Rolls (Nut & Dairy Free)

Lunch boxes…they can be a bit of a nightmare some days. While I am always keen to make grain free alternatives for my children, they still have gluten-free rolls in their lunch box occasionally. There was only one type I would buy, and it became the only type my children would eat. It was full of seeds and looked like a multi-grain roll, but it had absolutely no flavour. It started as a convenience item, and is still just a convenience item (some days laziness).

I have wanted to find and create an alternative for a long time, but each recipe I tried or altered just didn’t cut the mustard. They were too egg’y, too dry, too soggy, had a weird taste and lets face it kids are all about taste and texture. Finally, I’ve found it though. A roll recipe to do away with the convenient gluten-free rolls I was spending a fortune on.

Smashed Sweet Potato With Garlic Aioli

Often we overlook the side dishes, the supporting act to our main meals. This dish may outshine the main dish you’re serving though. It tastes so good.

Sweet potato is a great accompaniment to meats, fish or starring as a vegetarian hero. It is filling and a great source of ‘good carbs’ if you need extra fuelling for intense exercise. Best of all it tastes so good. This simple recipe highlights the flavour of the sweet potato. By caramelising the edges, it changes the taste to sweet. The garlic aioli adds to the flavour, with a hint of lemon, it makes my mouth water just thinking about it.
