One day my hubby came home and requested this recipe, and playing the good wife I obliged. It’s not often he requests a specific dish, so I’m usually happy to make it for him. I had actually been meaning to try making these paleo meatball subs for a while, and it’s not dissimilar to my basic meatball recipe you can find here.
As some of you may know, hubby and I have been doing a Whole30 since the beginning of January 2016. It has been a lot easier than I thought it would, and although it hasn’t been as easy for him, I’ve been really proud of how he has stuck to it. So when he came to me asking for me to make up this recipe, which is Whole30 compliant, I’m going to serve it up and keep him on track.
Anyone else get very bored with salads? Its often a simple garden salad at our house, and its easy to get tired of the same old thing. We were invited to a bbq over the weekend, so I had to put some effort in.
I came up with this quick recipe for this rustic sweet potato salad to take along and there was quickly none left. This recipe will make enough for 4 people, but you could easily double for a ‘take a plate’ to share with everyone.

Sauces, mayo’s, and preserves are often the hardest thing to tackle when changing to better eating habits. Whats the big deal you ask? Most are filled with sugars to make them more palatable or improve the colour. They also can contain thickeners or fillers, that are made from grain based products. Its been too long between posts….
The kids have been on school holidays and as it was the first holidays that I didn’t have to work through preparing for a big event, I was determined just to spend time with the them. We haven’t done anything amazing and haven’t filled in every day keeping busy. We have just been together doing ‘stuff’…and its been great!
As a result though, I’ve been only working as much as I absolutely have too. So posting hasn’t happened. The recipes have still been flowing, so there will be more coming very soon.
Today I made up this recipe at my husbands request. We haven’t ever really eaten baked eggs before, but it was always one of those recipes we thought we would enjoy. So…today we did. Enjoy it that is.
